Joy Todd

I have lived in Guildford all my life and, after 43 years working as an
accountant with Guildford Borough Council, retired in 1988. I began as a
Lay Reader, and then after 2 years further training joined the clergy team
as an Ordained Local Minister in 1990, one of the first in the Diocese. Also
on 24 April 1994 I was among the initial 32 women in Guildford Cathedral to
become priests in the Church of England. - a never to be forgotten occasion!
My part in the ministry of this parish has been varied and enjoyable, with
much support from colleagues and church members. Since reaching the age of
70 in 1998 I have been officially 'retired' but it has been a privilege to
continue to assist in a small way from time to time when needed.
