RESPONSIBILITIES  OF THE PCC

The PCC of Holy Trinity with St. Mary has the responsibility of co-operating with the Rector, Rev Robert Cotton, in promoting in the parish the whole mission of the Church, pastoral, evangelistic, social and ecumenical.  It also has maintenance responsibilities for both Holy Trinity and St. Mary’s churches, the Trinity Centre and clergy housing.

MEMBERSHIP

Members of the PCC are either ex officio (Clergy, Churchwardens and Deanery Synod representatives) or elected each April at an Annual Meeting of the Parochial Church Council in accordance with the Church Representation Rules.  Elected members and Deanery Synod Representatives serve initially for three years

PCC OPERATES through the following committees, which meet between full PCC meetings.

 

Standing Committee (Chair: Rev Robert Cotton) This is the only committee required by law. It has power to transact the business of the PCC between its meetings, subject to any directions given by the PCC.

 

Finance Committee (Chair: Geoff Cardinal) oversees the general financial dimension of the work of Holy Trinity with St. Mary by monitoring income and expenditure, budgeting and co-ordinating the annual review of the Christian Stewardship of money through planned giving.


Outreach encourages connections with other town centre organisations, promoting the message and mission of the Church. Arranges the distribution of ‘Outward Giving’ to local, national and international charities (which is 10% of the parish’s planned giving).

Youth Committee (Chair: Pippa Mitchell) supports the youth leaders in their work with the children and young people of the parish as well as taking responsibility for implementing the Child Protection Policy and for ensuring “continuity of supply” of youth workers and leaders.

 

Day-to-day Buildings Maintenance - overseen by a sub-committee (Chair: Revd Rod Pierce) which includes the parish caretaker.
