Tower Club

Children after the age of 9 (until this time they go to Junior Church) automatically belong to Tower Club.  This meets in the Trinity Centre during the Sunday morning 10am Eucharist at Holy Trinity, joining the congregation at the point in the service where we exchange The Peace and in time for those who have been admitted to Communion to share in the bread and wine.

Sometimes the meeting takes the form of some Bible study and discussion, sometimes it is about a current topic, eg Homelessness Sunday or Christian Aid week.  Some weeks a member of the clergy or congregation joins the group to discuss something of interest, or an outside speaker will come to chat with the group.  The meetings are to an extent self-led to maximumise the input and involvement of our young people.

Every term there are social events in the evening, such as pizza and video evenings, bowling, discos.

Our young people are involved in the practical aspects of our worship, serving as acolytes (young servers), reading lessons and intercessions (prayers).  There is a Young Bell Ringers group which practises at St Mary’s, and the Parish Youth Choir sings at the Service of the Word at St Mary’s.
