In memory of Helen Sophia, died 1879, wife of Robert Trimmer, MA, Rector (1863-1881).

This was originally sited in the small apse of the 1763 church and repositioned here after the rebuilding and extension of the east end in 1888.

Commemoration of 250th Anniversary of the Queen’s Regiment, north side windows:

St Alban, first English martyr.  Given by the 4th and 5th Battalions.

St Martin, patron saint of soldiers.  Given by the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Battalions.

St George.  In memory of Alice Nelly Wharton Taylor, died 1902.

The Altar Reredos: Abraham on his return from victory receiving bread and wine from Melchizedec (Genesis Chapter 14 v. 18), prefiguring the Last Supper. 

Memorial to all Ranks of the Queen’s Regiment.

Made by Powells by the Opus Sectile method, opaque painted recycled glass cut to shape (1904).

 

 

 


Hanging, Altar Frontal and Kneelers commissioned by the Queen’s Regiment and designed by Elaine Thompson (1998).  The tapestry kneelers were worked by ladies of the Parish.

‘The Ascension’ Window, above the Abbot Memorial.

In memory of Rev. Henry Ayling, Rector (1838-1851), previously Headmaster of the RGS (1822-1837).

Made by Clayton and Bell.

This was originally sited in the small apse of the 1763 church and repositioned here after the rebuilding and extension of the east end in 1888.
