New guidebook to St. Mary’s

A new guidebook to St. Mary’s was published in May 2009.  It is the first guide to the church to assess the style of the building and work out what this tells us about the church and the town.  Some new claims for the date of the church are made in the guide, such as dating the first stone church to c.950 and the first enlargement to c.1050.  The guidebook is in full colour, and costs £5.  It is available in the church, from the Parish Office, and from Guildford Museum.
