The hospital of the Blessed Trinity (Abbot’s Hospital) stands opposite Holy Trinity Church. This magnificent Jacobean building was founded by Archbishop George Abbot in 1619 for those elderly people of Guildford in need of a home so that they could live out their days in peace and security. There are 18 flats/cottages that cater for up to 6 married couples and 12 single people.

A beautiful chapel acts as a focus for this Christian community. Originally intended for a Master, 12 Brothers and 8 sisters, a new building in keeping with the surroundings was added in 1984. The gardens have been redeveloped for the benefit of the residents and are an integral part of the atmosphere of peace and charm that greets everyone who enters.
