Funding our churches
Our Parish relies upon the generous financial support from those who regularly attend our churches, as we do not receive money from the Diocese. Over 90% of our regular income comes through Planned Giving and it has become the standard way for most of us to make our financial contribution to the life and work of this Parish, including our charitable giving as well as supporting the work of Guildford Diocese.
Planned Giving by a regular standing order helps the Parish to plan more effectively and, if you are a tax payer, it enables you to increase your donation at no extra cost to yourself using Gift Aid.
Planned Giving update
A big thank you to all those who have responded to the recent campaign. From the original 250 letters sent out I have now received 95 replies. The great majority of these are from existing givers, 55% of whom responded. From the 90 not currently giving I received seven replies including five new givers. The financial impact of the campaign is that in a full year the Parish will receive £10,000 more, with the benefits of the five new pledges broadly matching the increases from 34 existing givers. Inevitably there are also reductions in giving, but overall it seems likely that we will have assured the budgeted income from Planned Giving for this year.
Going forward, we will be looking at how we can better encourage non-givers who already play a full part in church activities to share the costs of those activities with the great majority who do give. And please remember its never too late to get in touch! John Gillbe 562571 or john.gillbe@gmail.com
Forms are also available from the back of either church or from the parish office.
The link takes you to a display which is currently on show in both churches. It shows what we do to provide something for all ages and a wide range of tastes. It shows where our money comes from, what it goes to and encourages everyone to be included as part of the giving team.
