It also has maintenance responsibilities for Holy Trinity and St. Mary’s churches, the parish hall, office and the clergy housing. Members of the PCC are either ex officio or elected by the Annual Parish Meeting in accordance with the Church Representation Rules. The ex officio members are |

The churchwardens of Holy Trinity and St. Mary’s and the Deanery and Diocesan Synod representatives. The PCC operates through a number of committees, which meet between full meetings of the PCC: Standing Committee. This is the only committee required by law. It has power to transact the business of the PCC between its meetings, subject to any directions given by the PCC. Finance Committee. Oversees the general financial dimension of the work of Holy Trinity with St. Mary’s by monitoring income and expenditure, budgeting and co-ordinating the annual review of the Christian Stewardship of money through planned giving. Buildings Committee. Attends to matters relating to the improvement and maintenance of Holy Trinity and St. Mary’s churches, the parish hall and office and the clergy housing. Outreach Group. Encourages connections with other town centre organisations, promoting the message and mission of the Church. Arranges the distribution of ‘Outward Giving’ to local and international charities (which is 10% of the parish’s planned giving). Youth Committee. The Youth committee supports the youth leaders in their work with the children and young people of the parish as well as taking responsibility for ensuring “continuity of supply” of youth workers and leaders. The Annual Parish Meeting is held in April each year at which about one third of the non ex-officio members of the PCC are elected together with Churchwardens, Sidespersons and Deanery Synod representatives when vacancies arise. The full PCC meets around seven or eight times a year and normally there is a PCC Away Day in May to enable members of the new PCC to get to know each other. Committees meet between meetings of the PCC and the chairpersons update the PCC on their committee’s activities, problems and plans at each meeting of the full PCC. |
