Brian Roberts, Assistant Curate

I was born in Worcester Park, Surrey and educated at Kingston Grammar School and Balliol College, Oxford where I read English Language and Literature, graduating in 1966; and then studied Renaissance Art and Architecture at the British Institute in Florence.

I joined the Civil Service in 1967 and spent three years in the Colonial Service as a District Officer in the Solomon Islands before beginning a career in university administration at the London School of Economics. After a couple more college moves within London University, I became Secretary and Head of Administration at Birkbeck College.

I trained for the Ordained Local Ministry on the Guildford Diocesan Ministry Course from 2000 and was ordained Deacon in 2003 and Priest in 2004.

I married Anne in 1983 and we enjoy gardening, walking, theatre, music and travel.
